After complaining directly to Beaumont Legal, I received a call from Mark Blackburn`s manager promising to keep an eye on my purchase. I was confident that the exchange would take place on December 22, 2021. Since the 2nd call of the managers I have not heard anything. Mark Blackburn won`t respond to my emails or those of my equally frustrated real estate agent who is struggling to keep my buyer on the sidelines. 5 months and still pending. Constant automated responses outside the office indicating that they will respond on such and such a return to the office date will NEVER be tracked. I hired Bishopsgate Legal to manage my sale and they can teach Beaumont Law how to communicate effectively with paying clients. Good or bad, customers MUST be continually informed and of the progress made. I would avoid this venture at all costs.
You`d probably do more by booking your money at random addresses in the UK than paying them to help you move. You would definitely have more communication. In the miserable time it took us to move, we didn`t receive a single phone call or email from this office. We had to chase everything. In the end, we did the footwork. Talking to sellers` lawyers, buyers` lawyers, and real estate agents, then calling Beaumont, correcting them on a long list of lies they would spit out at the beginning of a call, and they let them know the information they were paid for. They should then of course call back later in the week to see if they had done anything. Big chance for that. In the end, we went to the legal office in Beaumont ourselves and knocked on the door.
What`s ridiculous is that they didn`t talk to us without a fight and expected us to leave after a hike without conversation to get answers. To be fair, after seeing them face to face, they called us twice later that week, but it didn`t take long. They can`t even stick to their own SLA or communication contract. You sign it at the beginning of your instructions to Beaumont and they threaten you with fees if you do not keep communication. Unbelievable that they just can`t communicate. A perfect example of this is that they state that they will acknowledge receipt of a complaint within 3 days, it took about 4 1/2 months and they respond to complaints within 28 days. Strange that 12 months later, despite persistent requests, I am still waiting for some kind of answer. There`s an entire Facebook group dedicated to Beaumont`s bad service. If this review wasn`t enough to discourage you, or if you just need to use it, then I have another piece of advice. If you get James Gent, then be willing to work for yourself. He didn`t call us once and we often received direct calls from the other lawyers on the channel. That`s certainly why James gets paid.
We also had more fun with the sellers` lawyers when we called them to get answers to our questions than James Dispite who was not their client. Maybe once he took care of his work and his clients and now he has simply lost interest in everything. Who knows. I will probably never have an answer to my complaint to find out. Edit- I had to change some details because Beaumont Legal marked this criticism as distortion, although it is a faithful representation of events. Since then, my complaint to Beaumont has been upheld and I have been offered financial compensation, but I still haven`t received any funding. What can I say about this company?! In the 6 months I sold my house, I only spoke to my lawyer once. After countless calls. I had a trainee lawyer and she was useless.
Towards the end. She said that my file was complete, that I had received an exchange date that did not take place. Then I was told that my file was not complete. I had to go around and do the work for them. I then received the replacement and completion the same day. I organized a van and packed my house and stuff was in front of my new home in another part of the country. I waited all day for my money transfer. I was told many times that the money had been transferred. Only to find out at 16:45 that my transfer has not yet been made and that it will now be sent. By then, the lawyer of the seller I was buying from had gone home. I lost almost 4 big ones with my moves and found a place to store my stuff on weekends.
Then accept that it will be sent back to me on Monday. I had animals that had to go to the kennel and I had to find housing. All my clothes were in the van, I didn`t even have a pair of shoes or coats. It took me months later to get my fees back. But they didn`t give me anything else for my stuff in the camp or my pets in the kennels or anything. There was an excuse that they were not legally obligated to pay for such things. They were wrong because the lawyer handling my case was fired shortly thereafter. I really wouldn`t care about this company. CEO Rachel Walton did not respond to any of my messages. Natalia Plat was rude and useless.
Sobia Kauser was my lawyer and a total waste of time. Julie Makin was rude and honestly didn`t care what happened. You are right after your money. First of all, I would like to clarify the following. First of all, I am not a client of Beaumont Legal and I have not been, but I have had a recent and real experience with them. Although I was fortunate enough to hire an excellent law firm, Beaumont Legal acted on behalf of the buyer of my apartment. I don`t intend to write this review except to make sure no one ever has to go through the frustration and hardships we`ve had and the resulting negative effects on our mental health. Secondly, for anyone reading this page, you should know that there is an incredibly high probability that positive reviews will be fake.
I investigated myself and was able to connect reviewers directly with law firm employees via social media. That sums them up pretty well – they can`t even do a good job of creating fake reviews. It also shows the depths they are willing to sink into just to do new business. At the transaction – 8 months, also known as 32 weeks, or alternatively 241 days. That`s how long it took Beaumont Legal to buy my apartment, a shared apartment, with someone else in the chain. What should have been a relatively simple transaction, perhaps 12 weeks all at once, resulted in the buyer, also known as the customer, becoming homeless for three months before the deal was finally completed. I remember having a conversation with their client after six months and being told they never spoke to their social worker. Although they called them twice a week (maybe more), they were too busy at every opportunity.
I was shocked, and although I wouldn`t normally call anyone, Bethan Clements-Hunt deserves a “special” mention given the fake reviews they praise. It is difficult to understand how this level of customer service can exist. I noticed last month that the company had improved or was trying to get this case out of its office. I understand that their client at least received answers from them and was even honoured by a phone call from their social worker. However, four to six weeks of waiting to respond to my lawyer`s requests, and then responding with identical requests, followed by the same waiting time and yes, identical requests again, it showed the total incapacity of the people involved in the transaction. In most cases, they already had the answers and therefore clearly had not read the information provided to them. A pretty horrible trait for a firm that claims to be a lawyer.
