Navigating the measures after an extrajudicial sanction (NJP) is understandably confusing. It is important to properly manage changes to sanctions at the command level to ensure that members` due process rights are respected. If there is a valid reason, there are four measures that the NJP authorities or their successors can take under Article 15, paragraph 6 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ): suspension, mitigation, remission of sentence and annulment.
